The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a call for action by all countries – poor, rich and middle-income – to promote prosperity while protecting the planet.

While The United Nations is an intergovernmental organization, the SDG project specifically identifies private investors as critical participants necessary for success.  As a result, the UN has dedicated vast resources towards educating world governments on policies that encourage private capital flows towards the 17 SDGs.

The following principles underpin our fiduciary duty:

  1. financially material ESG factors should be incorporated in investment decision-making

  2. investors should consider ESG factors consistent with the time-frame of the obligation

  3. investors should understand and incorporate the sustainability preferences of their beneficiaries

The SDGs are vital for a recovery that leads to greener, more inclusive economies, and stronger, more resilient societies.
